STORY OF SURVIVAL
The thought that Sunday, October 1, 2017 would be my last day on earth never crossed my mind.
When I looked down at my hands, covered in another mans blood, I was consumed with peace from within that I had never felt before. I began to look around at the traumatic chaos I had just survived and saw beauty that couldn’t be described. No one was worried about where their phones were, how much money you made, what color your skin was or where you came from. The only focus was survival and doing all you could to help the person next to you. Strangers helping strangers. Strangers putting others lives in front of their own. That was the beauty. We were part of something beautiful that united us. We were all united through the effort of survival.
